Six-Shooter Lessons: The 12 Clint Eastwoods Project is a multi-layered narrative structure in the form of a lecture performance, examining the first American basketball team of professionals allowed to participate in the first post-Soviet games of Barcelona in 1992. This narrative is overlayed onto United States’ military involvement in Iraq.
Barack Obama was elected to the office of the American Presidency in 2008. Days prior to the first performance of this work, a 30,000 troop surge in Afghanistan was announced as part of the administration’s military shift away from the Iraq war. Aivazian revisits the above narrative in publication form in 2012, a year where Obama is up for re-election and The U.S. Basketball team has won a gold medal at the Olympics.
